Tadoba National Park is considered the oldest and largest national park in Maharashtra State. It is also considered the 47th project for the tiger reserve in India. Another name of Tadoba National Park is Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve. The distance of Tadoba National Park is nearly 150 KM from the city of Nagpur. The location of Tadoba National Park is in the Chandrapur district of Maharastra.
The foundation year of Tadoba National Park is 1955 and the Andhari Wildlife Sanctuary was founded in 1986. This wildlife sanctuary was amalgamated into the Tadoba National Park in 1955. The name of Tadoba National Park was on the name of the God- Taru or Tadoba. This name of God is worshiped by the local tribal groups. The name of Andahri comes from the name of the Andhari river in this area.
